Martin Freeman: Chief Executive

Martin has strong history in activating and successfully growing numerous companies and was the founder of Credit Direct KZN in late 1990’s, which rapidly became the largest credit originator in South Africa. He was appointed the head of Direct Sales at African Bank Investments Limited (ABIL) when Credit Direct was acquired, and was responsible for designing its mobile business model which has become the benchmark for direct sales in the South African micro-finance industry. Martin co-founded Bayport Financial Services S.A. and has successfully grown the company to one of the largest non-bank credit providers in South Africa.
Kwame Pianim: Chairman

Mr. Kwame Pianim is a successful management and investment consultant with diversified work experience in the international arena and in the private and public sectors of the Ghana economy. His career has included positions that include Economic Research Officer, United Nations, New York (1964 - 1970). Acting Principal Secretary, Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, (1970 - 1972), Deputy Managing Director, Ghana Aluminium Products Limited, Tema, A former Chief Executive, Ghana Cocoa Marketing Board (1978 - 1979). Prior to incorporation of New World Industries, of which he is CEO, Kwame was a private economic and investment consultant specialising in packaging investments for private placement.
Brenda Madumise: Chairperson

Ms Brenda Madumise is an admitted Advocate of the Supreme Court of South Africa. Her career has spanned across a number of spheres of her professional life and has included management and administrative roles with Street law programme at the University of the Witwatersrand, the ANC women’s league and the ANC Legal Department, the Centre for the Development of Information and Telecommunications Policy, Telkom and the Department of Constitutional and Provincial Affairs. She is currently a management consultant in her own practice. She serves on various boards. Amongst others, she is the chairman of the Johannesburg Hospital, Chairman of the Appeal Board for Council for Medical Schemes, Non – Executive Director of Randgold and Exploration, T-Sec, Deputy – Chairman NECSA (Nuclear Energy Corporation of South Africa) and a member of the Minerals and Petroleum Resources Development Advisory Board. She chairs Randgold and Exploration’s audit committee, Chair of NECSA’s remuneration committee and chair of the audit committee of T-Sec.
